This 2-day course will teach you how to build powerful SharePoint 2013 business solutions without having to engage in any custom development. You will be amazed by exactly how far you can take things with SharePoint 2013 just using the out-of-the-box features and functionality once you have a solid understanding of the platform. This course has been specifically designed for business users using SharePoint 2013 in either an on-premises environment or in the Office 365 environment. This course does NOT focus on Microsoft Dynamics.
The first day of the course teaches you how to manage content of SharePoint 2013. You will learn how to customize lists and document libraries by creating and adding site columns and contents types. You will also learn how to change the appearance of a SharePoint 2013 site using the new Composed Looks feature and you will also see what’s involved with branding all the pages in a SharePoint 2013 site collection using a custom master page. And you’ll learn how to create and use managed metadata.
During the afternoon session you will learn about changes to the workflow architecture in SharePoint 2013, discover a new sense of power when creating custom workflows, and leverage business productivity features. You’ll learn how to configure and build business solutions on top of the essential service applications that are included with Business Data Connectivity Services (BCS).
The Day 2 morning session builds on the prior day with an in-depth look at the User Profile Service, and the significant redesign and new features introduced with the SharePoint 2013 Search Service. The afternoon session teaches you how to leverage Excel 2013, Excel Services and Business Intelligence in SharePoint 2013. You will also learn how to leverage the integration between SharePoint Server 2013 and SQL Server Reporting Services.
The course is 100% instructor-led lecture and live demonstration. Student labs will be provided to all attendees for self-paced use when you get home.
